To my beloved—

As I reflect on this amazing relationship we share, I find it hard to recall my life before I knew you. With you is where I often long to be. When I’m weary. When I’m seeking inspiration. Or when I just want to be. 

When we’re together, I can lose all sense of time. The cares of the world begin to slip away.  

You support me, and we settle into our rhythm rocking gently together.  Because of you, my senses reach new heights. I become more blissfully aware of all the beauty in our midst. My eyes open wider to take in the array of summer flowers. The gentle breeze whispers through the leaves and stirs the nearby wind chimes into song. The soothing call of a mourning dove adds another layer of peacefulness.  

All these things are more real to me because of you.

I pinch myself in amazement at my good fortune. You are there to help me go my own way—making a way for me to rest, to dream, and to grow.  Always ready to hold me up, you ask for nothing in return.

I could never take our relationship for granted. I only hope you can understand how precious you are to me.
